Gloria Mata Nuncio

In loving memory of Gloria Mata Nuncio, who passed on Friday, August 4, 2023, she went on to join the many family and friends that have passed on before her. Gloria was a wife, proud mother, cherished grandma, sister, and aunt. Gloria was born on March 27, 1949, to her parents Marcelino and Eva Mata in Gonzales, Texas, she was the youngest of her 3 siblings.

Gloria loved being a Certified Nurse’s Aide, she was known to bring a smile to all her residents.

She never came across a stranger, she always made friends in every situation. Gloria was the taxi and number one fan club of the family. She never turned down the opportunity to travel and gamble! Gloria filled this world with Love, Laughter, and Soul. She will be remembered as our loving matriarch, her generous spirit, and for her appreciation for life.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Marcelino Sr. and Eva Mata, her brothers Marcelino “JR” Mata and Oscar Mata, her husband Lebrado “Chuco” Nuncio, and her youngest daughter Amada Mata-Vera. 

Gloria is survived by her children Jeneva Kincaid (Saturn), Robert Flores, Jr., Kristie (Abel) Flores, Vida (Sal) Alarcon.  She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 3 greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and by those she “adopted” as family.

A visitation will be held at Seydler – Hill Funeral Home, on Wednesday, August 9, 2023,  from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A funeral service will take place at Seydler – Hill Funeral Home on Thursday, August 10, 2023,  at 10:00am conducted by Pastor Allen Davis. Interment will follow at Gonzales Memorial Park Cemetery, where Gloria will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Chuco.
