The Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs hosted the Luling Lady Eagles Tuesday, Oct. 1 for the home district opener of the 2024 volleyball season.
The Mustangs and the Lady Eagles kept all three sets close (18-25, 23-25, 23-25), but Luling would edge Nixon-Smiley in each of the final two sets by two points.
The Lady Mustangs dropped to 0-2 in district.
Nixon-Smiley will go on the road Friday, Oct. 4 to take on the Poth Lady Pirates.
The Lady Mustangs will return home against the Karnes City Lady Badgers Tuesday, Oct. 8.
The Poth match starts at 5 p.m. and the Karnes City game starts at 6 p.m.
