Nelda Barnes Ryherd

Nelda Barnes Ryherd, 71, of Gonzales, Texas passed away in the arms of her husband, Ronnie Earl Ryherd, on April 27, 2023.  

Nelda was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 22, 1951.  She graduated from Thomas Edison High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1969 and went on to earn an Associates from Oklahoma Military Academy and an Associates from Wharton Junior College in the early 1990s. In 1983 Nelda met and married her soulmate on July 16.  By her husband’s side of nearly 40 years, Nelda raised two wonderful sons, worked hard to take care of her family, and loved to spoil her grandchildren.  She loved to read and spend time playing cards and games with her children and grandchildren.  

Nelda is proceeded in death by her parents, Fred and Margaret Barnes, and her brother Larry Barnes all of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband Ronnie Ryherd, two brothers Keith (Janice) Barnes and James (Heidi) Barnes, three sisters-in-law Margaret Barnes (wife of Larry Barnes), Linda (JJ) Johnson and Cindy Glass, two sons Jason (Aubrie) Ryherd and Justin (Monica) Ryherd, chosen daughter Jennifer Leary, and two grandchildren Robyn and Logan Ryherd, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be held at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home in Gonzales, Texas, on May 3, 2023. Visitation from 2:00 pm until 4:00 p.m. Memorial service at 4:00 p.m.
