Paul Roy Abshire

Paul Roy Abshire, 83, of Pasadena, Texas passed away Friday, January 6, 2023 at Memorial Herman Southeast Hospital surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Roy was born July 25th in Kaplan, Louisiana to Alan and Olivia (Bertrand) Abshire. Roy retired from Broussard’s Technical School in Port Arthur, Texas.

Roy enjoyed spending time with his family and spent the last few years doing just that. He also enjoyed tinkering with anything mechanical when his health allowed it.

Those left to cherish his memories include  his wife of 47 years, Kathy Abshire of Gonzales, Tx.; his brother Lonnie Abshire of Kentucky, his daughters Michelle Ruiz of Pasadena, Texas; Melissa Farroux and husband Gene of New Braunfels, Texas; E’Linda Dawson of Pitkin, Louisiana; E’Lisha and John Paul Garcia of Gonzales, Texas;  his son Robbie Abshire and wife Jaime of Silsbee, Texas; grandchildren Brittany, Brooke, Tara, Abigail, Emily, Kalie, Karl, Kamren, Shelbie, Keeleigh, Robbie, Aliyah, Pablo, Miguel, Landon and a host of nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Alan Abshire and Olivia (Bertrand) Abshire, his sisters Lorena Campbell, Helen Clark, Ruby Barnes, Deloris Choate, Bernice Fuselier and Louella Menard.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
