Rosa A. Segura

Rosa A. Segura, 74, of Houston, TX passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2024 in Victoria, TX surrounded by family.  She was born on January 21, 1950 in Cuero, TX to Amalia Almaraz and the late Dionicio Almaraz of Waelder, TX.  Rosa graduated Waelder High School in 1969 and moved to Houston in 1970 where she worked as a health caregiver until she started working at United Way where she faithfully worked for many years before finally retiring.  She married Domingo Segura on June 20, 1974.

Rosa is survived by her mother, Amalia Almaraz, brothers, Lupe Almaraz and Jesse Almaraz & wife Marie all of Waelder, TX, she is further survived by nephews, Isaac Almaraz & wife Alica from Nederland, TX, Thomas Almaraz & husband Nathan Stopyra of Georgetown, TX and Matthew Almaraz of Waelder, TX along with other nephews, nieces, great nieces, great nephews and other family and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband, father, grandparents, sister, Ernestina Almaraz and brother, Julio Almaraz. 

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 5:00 to 7 pm, with prayers of the Holy Rosary following at 7:00 pm in Seydler-Hill Funeral Home, 906 St. Paul St, Gonzales, TX 78629.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Friday, June 7, 2024, in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 613 Hwy 90 E, Waelder, TX 78959 with Fr. Jason Martini officiating. Interment will follow in Waelder Community Cemetery, 824 D Ave #700, Waelder, TX 78959. Pallbearers:  Isaac Almaraz, Thomas Almaraz, Brandon Cruz, Matthew Almaraz, Dio Almaraz and Aaron Segura along with Honorary Pallbearer’s, Buddy Segura and Andrew Almaraz.
