William Stephen “Steve” Holmes

On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, William Stephen “Steve” Holmes of Luling, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 66. Steve was born on February 3, 1958, to William A. “Bill” and Nancy Ann Campbell Holmes, who have preceded him in death. 

Steve was very active in the community, serving with The Lion’s Club as well as many others. He loved the Lord with all his heart and served in several capacities at Maranatha Church of Luling. He was a very successful salesman with the philosophy of always being a true servant to his customers. He was a proud graduate of The University of Texas Business School. He had a gregarious, bigger than life personality and was a superb storyteller. His pride and joy were his grandchildren.

Steve will be deeply missed by his wife of 43 years Carla; children; Joshua Holmes (Kimberly) and Katie Smith (Thomas); grandchildren Tyler Smith, Reece Smith, Lillian Holmes and Emily Holmes; siblings Sheri Holmes Wood (Mike) and Dr. Clayton Holmes (Sherry); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him dearly. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 10:00am-11:00am at Finch Funeral Chapel in Nixon.

Burial will follow at Nixon Cemetery. Rev. Lynn Wilson and Rev. Alan Davis  will be officiants of the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name to The Nixon Cemetery Association.
