George Arthur Flores

George Arthur Flores, 76, of Gonzales, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024. He was born March 11, 1948 in San Marcos the son of Luciano H. Flores, Jr. and Herminia Lucio Flores. He graduated from Southwest Texas University where he received his BBA degree.  He served with the United States Marine Corps. He was the owner of Flores Construction Company and was a general contractor for Texas State University.

George enjoyed fishing with his daughter Sabrina, deer hunting and following most sporting events. He also played football and baseball. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Connie; daughters Sabrina Flores of Gonzales, Stephanie Hyzak and husband Mike of Austin and Angie Kessler of Gonzales; grandchildren Katie, Mason,  Sophie, Ryan and Matthew; sisters Blanche Wyont of San Marcos and Laura Bentley and husband David of Wimberley; niece Bianca and nephew Michael along with numerous nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.  He is also survived by his loyal companion and best friend Piper.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard Flores.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, October 10 with the Holy Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.  The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2024 at St. James Catholic Church with Reverend Jason Martini officiating.  Interment with full military honors will follow at St. James Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Mike Hyzak, Cody Mikulencak, Blake Edwards, Michael Wyont, Billy Magallanez and Greg Ramirez. His grandsons Mason Kessler, Ryan Kessler and Matthew Hyzak will serve as honorary pallbearers.
