Linda Joy “Grandma” Coffin
Linda Joy “Grandma” Coffin went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 5, 2024. She was born August 11, 1941, to Emmett and Ava Argo in La Ward, TX. She was the 3rd of 6 children, and was raised in The South Texas Children’s Home in Pettus, TX with her younger siblings.
Linda met her high school sweetheart, P.D, in middle school and they married the day she graduated High School. After 64 years of marriage, they shared many adventures and memories that included trips with the XYZ Travel Club, and watching the grandkids in all their sports & school activities. They also enjoyed riding around in the golf cart with their “favorite” fur child, Jackson. Linda was the Gonzales Junior High School Secretary for 27 years where she loved interacting with the many students that crossed her path over her tenure with the district.
Linda was proceeded in death by her mother and father and her 5 siblings, Harold, Nowana, Larry, Bobby, & Eddie. Linda is survived by her husband P.D, children Paula (Allen) and Clifford (Rhonda) and her grandchildren Kaela, Shay (Sara), Taylor (Joshua), Sidney and her great granddaughter, Tatum Joy who was named after Linda. She is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephews, and her second family from Nacogdoches, TX – the Cordell’s.
We will celebrate her life on October 11, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Gonzales, Tx at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society, Heart to Heart Hospice, or First Baptist Church Gonzales who are entrusted with Linda’s life celebration.
