Lady Apaches, Lady Mustangs compete at Cuero Tournament

The Gonzales Lady Apaches and Nixon-Smiley Lady Mustangs traveled to Cuero for their first tournament of the season Thursday, Aug. 15.

The Lady Apaches competed against Goliad, Industrial, Incarnate Word Academy, Yoakum, Nixon-Smiley and more in the three-day tournament.

Gonzales beat Nixon-Smiley in two sets in the last game of day one.

The Lady Mustangs competed against Industrial, Goliad, Victoria West, Gonzales and more in the three day tournament.

The Lady Apaches and Lady Mustangs hosted their home openers Tuesday, Aug. 20; Gonzales hosted Smithville and Nixon-Smiley hosted Falls City.

The Lady Apaches head back out on the road for the Schulenburg Tournament Thursday, Aug. 22; and the Lady Mustangs will travel to Beeville for their second tournament on the same date.

Both teams will face each other again in the season for a non-district match Friday, Sept. 13 in Gonzales.
