Lady Apaches lose a tough battle against Lady Tigers

The Gonzales Lady Apaches hosted the Smithville Lady Tigers for the home opener of their 2024 volleyball season Tuesday, Aug. 20.
The Lady Apaches and Lady Tigers went to four sets in close games that were won by no more than two to five points.
Gonzales forced a fourth set with a 26-24 win in extra points in the third set, but would go on to lose to Smithville in the fourth set (20-25, 23-25, 26-24, 22-25).
The Lady Apaches will head back on the road Thursday, Aug. 22 through Saturday, Aug. 24 for the second tournament of the season in Schulenburg.
Gonzales will return home Tuesday, Aug. 27 for a non-district match against the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas.
