Brenda Joyce Baros, 56, of Gonzales passed away peacefully at home, Thursday Nov. 18. 

Brenda was born Oct. 7, 1954 in Gonzales to Henry Grady Johnson and Evelyn “Bitsy” Knapp Johnson.  She was a member of The Presbyterian Church. Brenda graduated from Gonzales High School with the Class of 1972. 

Brenda had an outgoing personality with a heart-warming smile. She was a considerate, caring and giving person and to many, a friend forever. Brenda was a hard working person and will be sorely missed by her co-workers at Gonzales Memorial Hospital, not just for her work ethic but also for her well-timed humorous manner that could still the monotony and tedium of the business office if only for moment, it was always a moment of joy. 

Brenda had enjoyed fishing the coastal waters with her father, working in her yard and she loved nature and watching wildlife in their natural habitat. She loved her family deeply and found a nurturing peace in caring for their needs. 

Survivors include her daughter, Shannon Renea Homann and her husband Heath Long of Gonzales; step-daughter, Heather Stamport and her husband Shawn of Gonzales; her mother, Evelyn “Bitsy” Johnson of Gonzales; sister, Linda Johnson Mahoney and her husband Russell of Beeville; brother, Kenneth Knapp Johnson and his wife Mary Jane of Gonzales; and grandchildren, Madison and Emily Stamport of Gonzales.  She was preceded in death by her father, Grady Johnson; a brother, Henry Grady Johnson, Jr., and her husband Phillip Homann. 

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 at The Presbyterian Church with Pastor Dianna Whitley officiating. The family had received friends at the funeral home Saturday morning prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers friends may make memorial gifts to the Gonzales Animal Shelter. Services were under the care and direction of Seydler-Hill Funeral Home.
